Cape Kolka

In January 2005, a heavy storm swept the Latvian coast near Cape Kolka, eroding the beaches and felling many trees. The trend to warmer winters leaves the beaches less protected by sea ice, and more vulnerable to erosion from winter storms. The rise in sea level will compound this danger.

According to the Slitere National Park regulations, the felled trees are intentionally left on the beaches as they help protect against further erosion.

Kolka (Kūolka) is home to the last remnants of Latvia's Livonian ethnic group, whose Livonian language is highly endangered.

This is a fine composition, and the subject has interest value!
I wonder, where did that tree come from and what happened since it seems like almost intact...
Attractive colour palette and sharp fine details, the view is well framed!

A nice picture certainly through the blue colours of the sea and the sky.
The dead tree is the real eye catcher on this image.
