It's always nice to see an official border crossing sign when you're on the road. Some EU borders don't have any of these anymore. You don't know when you're leaving one country and entering another.
It's one of the down sides of the Union - a bit of a loss of identity. Just the ubiquitous blue and yellow sign to keep you aware of political divides.
