Photographer's Note
A new country today, but a small one. Taken at Place de la Constitution just before sunset. I've passed through this country several times over the years, but the only time I saw any sunshine was the 5 minute period around which this photo was taken, it was a gloomy overcast day with high altitude fog. I darkened the sky further to add impact and erased the construction cranes that filled the sky at the right part.
In WS I will add my first photo taken with the new Canon 20D.

Hi Tan,
Excellent colours here. Contrast between strongly illuminated city and the dark sky is fantastic. Very well done!
BTW, I've captured a similar magic moment here, but your photo is much cleaner and sharper.
Thanks,

Hi, Tan!
Wonderful autumn shot! Colors and sunset light is superb.
I was in Luxembourg in the beginning of December, but the sky was cloudy and I have not good shots.

Tan, des couleurs d'automne qui réchauffent ! La photo est très belle parce que très bien composée et qu'elle bénéficie d'une lumière de coucher de soleil qui ravive les tons jaunes et orangés des arbres et des bâtiments.

Hello Tan,
Luxembourg is maybe a very small country, but a beautiful one. The city (same name) Luxembourg is even not one of the most beautiful places in this country. Amazing evening colors here.

Great light you caught in this shot! The golden glow of the sunset light gives a great contrast with the cool blue/grey sky. I like the composition too, with the photo building from the right to the left on a diagonal. Great work!

The reddish colours and the warm lighting are the main elements of this wonderful composition. I also like the way you framed the picture on the left. Great perspective too.

Hi Captain,
Wow looks like you pushed the PP as on your Ribeauville pic, this one is really shining out its autumn colors ! But have to admit the PoV is good and the dramatic effect striking.
Of course I was bit more interested in the WS, you did not add the EXIF but it seems it was taken at long range, I wonder whether your speed aws fast enough at that range...
Keep trying !

Hello Tan
It is not often that I see Luxembourg scenery, maybe due to its small size. Its beauty should be more often recorded.
The colors are striking in a good composition.
The contrast is excellent.
Just a little bit of oversharpening for my taste, but that is my humble opinion and remove nothing from the quality of your picture and my pleasure to look at it.

What wonderful light you have captured here, Tan, the colours are just glorious. Composition is excellent with the spires on the left and the buildings in the sun tapering off to the right. I wonder if it is a touch over-sharpened though because there is a bit of halo effect around the roofs of the buildings. Cheers . . . David

Hi Tan,
A brilliant and alluring composition, highlighted by the superb lighting and contrasting dark sky. What an interplay between the red and golden hues here. I also like the POV. The eye follows the little wall on the left and there are superb shadow effects in the shrubbery. Just a note on your WS: As a 20D owner, I have always viewed your shots with longing and nostalgia for the old days of Velvia and the magnificent results you have achieved - I will be most interested to follow your shots with the 20D. Best regards.

Kaptan selam!

And once again, the light was on your side. Nice, very nice, it's otherwise a quite trivial cityscape but with such light it easily transforms into a beautiful, eye catching shot.

Hi Tan
This photo reminds me of a very long time ago when I was young, had a rail pass and did silly things. From Germany, I decided to take a late train to Luxembourg and stay overnight in the local Youth Hostal. However, it was closed being off-season and as the station was too, I had to spend the night drinking hot chocolates in a cafebar full of weird people.
Anyway back to the photo.
The colours are so rich thanks to the splendid light. I like the position of the church on the left and the line of the wall.
Regards Nikki

Hello Tan, this is some of the most incredible golden illumination I have seen in a photo. The buildings seem to be radiating a light of their own. The fabulous red trees in the foreground look like they are on fire. The colours are wonderfully set off by the dark, brooding sky behind.
