Vrelo Cave, a photo from Skopje, West

Photographer's Note

Vrelo Cave is on the right bank of the Treska River within Matka Canyon about 15 km from Skopje. The pool here is the larger and more impressive of the 2 and is 35 metres in length and 18 metres in depth. Vrelo Cave is listed as one of the top 77 global natural attractions on the New 7 wonders of Nature list:

Hello Chris

This is a fine photograph. The cave is beautifully displayed, with strong but apparently true colours, pin sharp of course. Did you need a tripod, or was the high ISO sufficient for hand-holding? (the EXIF info on shutter speed seems a bit eccentric!) But what really attracts me is the graphic abstract quality of the composition: it could be read just as an excercise in pattern and shape.

I do like the caves, these places have a lot of mysterious and so enigmatic details and legends. Amazing composition, excellent combination of the lights, shadows and the water reflection. Just perfect quality! TFS!

I am very impressed with the quality of this work. I have never achieved any satisfactory result with photos of caves. The light is scarce, it is hard to compose predict and do anything.
Here you have a nice final effect with interesting elements, colors and light.

It's not easy to make good pictures inside a cave but here you managed to present us the stalactites and stalagmites in a wonderful composition with splendid contrasts between illuminated spots and dark areas.

This is something I really like to photograph and they are not easy at all. This one looks very beautiful and you got great textures and managed light really well. Very good exposure!
