Matka Lake, a photo from Skopje, West

Photographer's Note

Some old boats on Matka Lake, formed by a dam built across the Treska River in 1937 and still standing despite the 1963 earthquake which destroyed much of Skopje. It's about 20 km west of the Macedonian FYR capital of Skopje.

Excellent downwards point of view puts the scene nicely in evidence. The boats are nicely juxtaposed one with another. Lovely lights and colours and some delightful reflections. Excellent sharpness.

Heavy saturation, almost too much, just not. Excellent composition (I like that littel line at the top), the reflection of the mountain is absolute top!

I wrote a comment on your previous post, but, despite many attempts, was not able to post it, I got an "invalid query" notification every time. I wonder what is wrong.
...And just found out as I was about to write a message in the Forum, it is the apostrophes, it seems that they are illegal again:)
This picture is beautiful too, I like the play between the real elements of the scenery and the reflections, there is a wonderful palette of colours too. The boats and the reflections are well framed by the rocks and we also get a suggestive glimpse of the scenery that is left out of the frame. Congratulations and thank you! I hope this comment manages to get through.

Oooh the boats looks like they're floating on air. I love the glassy lake, the wonderful colours and textures of the old boats and the natural frame created by the surrounding rocks. Excellent job.
