Photosession in the canyon, a photo from Skopje, West

Photographer's Note

I was on the same trip as Piotr, so I visited the same place. A rather difficult task for me to show my photos after his beautiful pictures.

From Ohrid, we went north through wonderful Mavrovo National Park to Canyon Matka. The cruise in the small boats was beautiful. We also visited a cave.

Matka is a canyon located west of central Skopje, Macedonia. Covering roughly 5,000 hectares, Matka is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in Macedonia and is home to several medieval monasteries. The Matka Lake within the Matka Canyon is the oldest artificial lake in the country.
Matka Canyon is home to a wide variety of plants and animals, some of which are unique to the area. Roughly 20% of the plant life found at Matka is endemic and only found here. The canyon is also home to 77 indigenous species of butterfly. The canyon is also home to the most venomous snake in south Europe the Viper. The canyon's caves are home to large populations of bats.

Matka Canyon is gorgeous. Nice reflections in the reservoir, and a fine collection of colourful kayaks in the bg. I thought the boat tour and cave were worth seeing. I wonder where the happy wedded couple are off too? Tfs!

A curious way to start married life - in a small boat. But, nowadays out of the ordinary wedding photos are all the rage. I like the composition and the inclusion of the people on the jetty. Good colours and clarity and some nice reflections.

J'ai vu beaucoup de photo de mariés dans ma vie étant photographe de noces à l'occasion, mais jamais dans une barque dans un canyon.Mais tous les éléments semblent favorables.

A great photo of this small boat with the newly wed couple ready to have their photos taken. It looked like a wonderful day for a wedding. Excellent photo, the reflections in the ripples of the water are amazing and look very artistic.

Hello Malgo,
So you made a boat tour in Matka. I walked the trail till the end. I didn't see snakes but in summer there were millions of small caterpillars that fell down from the trees on the hikers.
I remember that on my visit there were also some brides near the church at the entrance.
Your picture has a splendid brightness and attractive colours.

You captured a pleasant view with nice reflections and you cleverly avoided to cut off the heads of the people on the jetty.

Hmm, this is one of those "photographing the photographers" photo. You captured an interesting occasion quite well. I must say, outside of the boat is a little worse for wear and it does not look very romantic, but to each her own... 👍
