Photographer's Note
Would you look at this, it gets so hot here in Phoenix that even my digital pictures are melting! Just kidding of course, it’s not really that hot….yet. Who knows, this could actually be the side effects of my prescribed “abstractosis” medication, and you’re all seeing the same things I am under the influence.
No need to adjust your monitor, this is actually the intended result…as crazy as it may seem. In an effort to come up with a new way to photograph the iconic Monte Carlo Casino, I decided to utilize a different type of reflective surface, the Sky Mirror, which conveniently held a place right out in front of the casino…they must have known I was coming to visit. Yeah, riiiiiiight! The WS picture shows the full mirror.
So here you have it, one final abstract (of sorts) to round out this series. It’s been fun, and I’ll certainly be gearing up for another round in the future. I realize this is certainly not going to be everyone’s “cup of tea,” but hopefully it can at least make you smile in odd curiosity.
Thanks for stopping by.

HI Jason,
Funny result. You succeeded in showing the famous casino in an original way :). Nice symmetry in spite of distortion. And have you been in the casino?
I like the WS photo with the mirror ball too.

Hi Jason,
Nice casino photo, I never seen this alternative. High grade of creativity. It really a different view to this famous casino in Monte Carlo. I've photos with similar view but not as creative as this one, may are rather a standard post card type. I like this one very much.
Very well done.
Greetings,

Hello Jason,
Both of your shots are worthy of posting but I understand and applaud your decision to post the cannabis version. I like the idea of photographers finding a new 'angle', which isn't easy with so many photographs trying to do the same thing!
Your shot reminds me very much of a cartoon still! Something has just landed on top of the building and the whole thing has gone into shake!
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Howdee Mr Cee
When I saw the title for this one I thought it was one of your crazy over-sized US sandwiches! I remember when I was in San Fran asking for something called a "Bay-burger" on Pier 39 and when it arrived it was the size of a dinner plate and 4 inches thick. Not used to opening my mouth that wide. (Steady - all comments will be censored!)
Love shots like this - and this is a superb example. Easy to make out all the detail but it takes on almost crazy watercolour left out in the rain feel about it. Looks amazing. Enjoyed this mini series - want to see some more now.

Someone left the cake out in the rain………….bet you are humming that song now big guy!

Bonjour Jason,
J'aime beaucoup l'idée et la réalisation. L'ensemble très difficile à réaliser est parfaitement symétrique dans son ensemble. Je souhaite que ta nouvelle maladie dure encore très longtemps car c'est très intéressant à regarder.
Amicalement

Thought for a minute that an earthquake struck...
Nice taken the reflection, Jason, the edifice is a fine architecture's built - and its mirror on water gave a nice diff. focal view upon.
Best regards,
Ike

Hey Jason
so how hot does it get in Phoenix...i know people in Las Vegas get the hell out of dodge come summer time...is it that way in Phoenix too?
i enjoy this one more than a water reflection, its pretty darn cool.
the man standing in the middle infront of the crosswalk looks like he can fit a truck through his legs lol
So what Monte Carlo like...i know very little about it.
cool shot
cheers

Hello Jason,
I like a lot your creative approach and your eye for turning the ordinary into extraordinary. The distorted lines created by the miror reflection have given this casino a Gaudi-like appearance. Who knows, this is maybe the way Gaudi got his ideas for architecture and building designs ! A very interesting result, anyway.
Have a nice weekend.

Hola my friend from the far north
After writing some comments, have a look here just in case there was something new and
To tell you the true, at first glance I thought, must stop, I am dizzy, but read your note and..saw the title
Its another product of the dangerous Abstractosis illness, this time creating a new and original capture of the famous Casino
Indeed Jason a funny creative one
Hope you enjoy a Coke inside
Cheers with 7 up !

Hello Jason,
I'll take reflections of any kind: puddles, windows, funky mirrors. :-) I like this alternate reality view. The casino looks nice, and I like looking at all the people scattered around. You're somewhere in there, too. :-) I saw the Sky Mirror here in NYC a few years ago and had fun taking photos of it.

Hello Jason,
I don't think your digital pictures are melting in Phoenix. This is the view you had after a night out on the Riviera and after having one over the eight :)
Then the world looks like this.
I hope you enjoyed it.
I enjoy this picture very much.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Jason,
Aaah, so this is that wonderful sky mirror that we have seen before from a different angle! I like what you have done here, it creates a very enticing view, and must almost be what the world looks like if we stepped through the looking glass. I wonder if Alice was surprised to find a casino on the other side? Probably not, that white rabbit does look a bit like a croupier :)
Impressive scene, and how you managed to not be in the frame is anybodys guess. Are you a vampire? In a balloon chair? There has to be a movie in there somewhere.
All the best from Ireland. Where it NEVER EVER STOPS RAINING! Bah humbug :)
Cheers
Noel

Hello Jason,
I love the melting effect, the view is well rendered with comprehensible details, fine depth and sense of movement but the "mirror" has created another, most intriguing sense of motion. Decomposition is still at its start and the melting effect feels surprising and exciting. You have rendered the classic, symmetrical composition so vibrant and original. You managed the light very skillfully and produced superb, natural looking colours. A very delightful picture in the workshop too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,
Ourania

Salut Jason,

Okay fine, I'll stop complaining about the cold!
Awesome take on this, and a nice close to the abstract series here. Actually in this case, I wouldn't mind seeing a straight-ahead shot of this building - looks like a winner. Thanks!

Hi Jason,
I like it and actually a lot! The melting illusion is fantastic. Very good idea and well executed. The building is beautiful, but so many times photographed that your picture brings some fresh approach to it. It is quite amazing that you managed to frame it in the way that shows the whole casino and the surroundings as well.
Well done!
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day
