Of cats and men, a photo from Kotor, South

Photographer's Note

Stray cats- the true dwellers of the Old Town of Kotor. With such abundance of tourists coming here it's hard to spot the people-dwellers, so these animals are the most certain locals to meet.

Kotor is located along, as some say, the most beautiful bay of the Montenegrin coast and has a well preserved medieval architecture. No wonder tourists flock the area. Cats probably benefit from that, having more hands to feed them, but the inhabitants have to deal with the crowds, with loud music at night, with tons of garbage which the municipal service has to remove somehow from bins located in these very narrow lanes (and what noise they make at 5 a.m. banging on the cobbled streets...)
Nevertheless, it's a wonderful place, I'll write a bit more with the following photos from the place.

niby o kotach, ale tak na dobrą sprawę jakaś odrobina "człowieczeństwa" tam jest, podoba się bardzo, super to zdjęcie;

Koty w Kotorze (choc nazwa miasta bynajmniej nie od nich pochodzi) to zjawisko bardzo ciekawe. Nie wiem czy zauwazylas, ze maja one zupelnie inna fizjonomie niz nasze dachowce, sa takie wydluzone i pociagle...
Tez mam troche fotek z tymi zwierzakami. Twoja kompozycja tchnie subtelnoscia i luzem wiazacym sie z poprzednimi fotami. Coz lenistwo udziela sie tez czworonogom :o))

great point of view you chose...though I do wish you had snapped a few moments earlier, as the distant kittie is a litte too close to the front of the bike...it would have been great to give him a space of his own. However, I think this could also have been achieved if you had pulled back a little. Other than this, I relaly like the dominance of the cat in the foreground...

Excellent!!! I like this very much, with the combination of the two cats - one relaxing on his perch, while in the background we can see the other on the prowl. This seems like the first one is asleep, and dreaming of the hunt, which we see represented in the background. Superb!

superb!!! The compo is so well done!!! You see the angle of the front left leg follows the angle of the front of the bike. The frame is perfectly filled. The depht of field is impressive as well. I'm not a cat behaviourist, but I guess there would be a lot to tell about that;)

Absolutely beautiful, Aleksandra, not surprisingly, for you have an eye that performs magic from the everyday. The composition is lovely, the inclusion of the black cat in the back walking out of the frame is a very important part of it... the coppery bw conversion is also pure delight. Bravo!

J'aime bien ta compo, c'est très bien pensé.
Ce chat sur cette selle, couché, et puis le 2ème dans le fond qui sort de l'image.
Pis je trouve le cadrage très judicieux, c'est original.

Well I hate cat pictures, so you have done very well here to make this an appealing photo to me. In fact I think its the first cat photo Ive ever liked. Your photo manages to show very well the rulers of this part of the world, and as simple as it is, its that cat in the background which makes this shot work. Well done.

This is a fantastic composition. The detail on the foreground cat is great on the motorbike. The stone blocks on the pavement add superb ambience to the locale of the photo. The out of focus cat receding from the frame is a stroke of genius. Terrific black and white. Bravo!

Olka, ja strasznie lubie to zdjecie, tylko leb mi troche swiruje...Na czym te kocisko lezy? Niby przypomina jakis duzy motorcycle, ale...nagle z tylu, jak gdyby to byl jeden z malutkich skuterow 'Piaggio' czy jakos tam, z widoczna stacyjka na kluczyk ??!!
Zasnac napewno nie zasne, dopoki sie nie doczekam odpowiedzi.
A zdjecie kotem-włóczegą 'odchodzące' okrutnie.

Fantastyczne ujecie! Jeden spi, drugi idzie w sina dal :-) I ta sepia - bardzo pasuje do nastroju. Trudno zrobic zdjecie kotow nie popadajac w sztampe, ale tobie udalo sie doskonale. A w ogole, tak sie sklada, ze znam i te uliczke, i skuter i kota pewnie tez :-)
