The Mastbos where this picture was taken.
I would consider one of my favourite spot for nature photography.

This freshwater turtle ( yellow-bellied slider ) can be found or seen in this pond.
To my knowledge, there are only two turtles.

'De Kogelvanger' ( WS2 ) is a piece of plain as ' wet nature'.
To protect the 'vulnerable' nature, people are not allowed to step into this plain.

At the same spot , the Grey Heron is on the lookout for fish ( WS1 ).
I was surprised that this Grey Heron is not afraid of humans.
Perhaps this bird has learned to trust people.

Hello Loong,
Great photo here with fantastic reflections in very nice and bright sunlight. That turtle is very well included at left as well, it was clearly enjoying the fine weather as well.

HI Loong,the place is really beautiful and certainly perfect for nature photography. The subjects are a little distant but very clear, the turtle recharges the batteries with solar energy while the heron seems more focused on the passage of some fish or amphibian rather than on you..hehe..three great photos made in the heart of winter, maybe someday you will make me a nice surprise with some local butterfly.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Three beautiful nature pictures.
I also find it curious that the grey heron doesn't fly away when a person approaches.
Beautiful refection of the log, the reed and of course the turtle.

Hello Loong,
I had to adjust my eyes for a couple of seconds to identify what this was showing. But once inside the picture I really enjoyed this view, partly because of the turtle but even more for the colours, light and beautiful reflections. In WS #1 you got amazingly close to the heron, but it's obviously used to humans and wouldn't allow a nosy photographer to disturb its hunt for food. The other WS gives us a good idea of the area where you had these fascinating experiences.
