Hello David, and Welcome to TE!
This is a wonderful look at the canal, with the water establishing a strong compositional diagonal! The bright pastels also form a nice line across the image -- the orange van, the yellow and blue boat, and the green barge.
The overall effect is a little heavy -- perhaps the darker hues of the water could be dodged a bit? Just a thought!
