Photographer's Note
The best way to view the pictures is to use the links below.
Art and Industry
The combination of Artistic activities and the Industrial complex of the former NDSM-shipyard is very inspiring.
Today three artistic photographical creations from inside the yard.
■ The main picture a graphical coalition of some artistic objects, a poster of “Dawn of the Wolf” and a part of the construction of the building, all glued together by the reflection in a mirror.
I could have arranged it myself if it wasn’t already there.
■The first workshop is a self-portrait with your humble TE-represent amidst the attributes of the main picture.
■ The second workshop is one of the many still life compositions you can capture inside the building
■ Main picture: ◙ Dawn of the Wolf
■ Workshop 1: ◙ USEU Selfie
■ Workshop 2: ◙ Industrial Still Life

I add the dark frame to the picture to give the posts a screen format of 1920x1080 pixels
The idea is that, if you use the links in the text, you have a full screen image of the picture with the photo in the centre of a dark screen.
This works with the browsers and screens I use, but I’m not sure that everybody will have the same result.

Hello Rob,
The point of view and the crop extracts the maximum graphical impact from the scene. Assisted by the excellent rendering of the colours and the detailing.

Hello Rob,
Amazing what a simple mirror can do when surrounded by so much junk of all imaginable colours and shapes. It's "just" a matter of finding the right angle where the junk and the reflections become art. But what about these white blocks that seem to balance strangely on each other (reminding me of those famous lopsided buildings in Rotterdam)? Have they been arranged deliberately or is it just a matter of the angle? They look even weirder in the WS.
The WS2 is another example of unintended art with lovely faded colours.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Rob,
Only guess, there are many other good opportunity inside the old shipyard, and surely you will show more of those.
Industrial yards offer a different yet intriguing pictures to collect, the example here are wonderfully rendered. As well for the selfie.
Good afternoon,

Hi Rob,
The artist used the mirror to show the reflection of the structure of the building. The point of view is showing the details of the white rectangular object and of the reflection. The light is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.

Hallo Rob,
Een mooi samenraapsel van elementen met de poster als meest interessante deel van de foto, dat ook nog eens mooi gespiegeld wordt (bovendien zien we het meest ervan in de spiegel). De verschillend gekleurde balken zijn een prachtig decor.

Bonjour, cher ami Rob,
Vous maniez votre appareil photo d'une façon subtile sachant utiliser l'environnement et créer des images très graphiques.
Le résultat est assez spectaculaire.
Félicitations renouvelées pour vos mises en image (présentation notamment).
Amitiés.

Hello Rob,
Mirrors are why we like pools, glass and wet surfaces, they create the most unexpected results, constantly changing, depending on light and movement.
I like this very much for its lines and colours, though it may not quite compete with the model in the w/s!
The textures in the second w/s are almost palpable! Love the colours, too.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Dag Rob,
De laatste WS foto zien we duidelijk de fotograaf in beeld.
De andere foto doe me denken aan vroeger, bij de smid of the wagenmaker.
Uw hoofd foto heeft iets van beiden
Alles mooi in beeld gebracht. Bedankt
Prettige dag verder, zwaar bewolkt en 17°C

Hello Rob,
Good sharpness and I like the contrast between the plain white cubes and the brightly colored bg. Nice reflections in the tri-panel mirror. Tfs!

Hello Rob, the main shot is a work of art in its' own right; I love all the lines, shapes and colours.
Very clever viewpoint to use the mirror and reflect to us what is actually out of the frame.
The w/shop shots are also very interesting extras.
Regards Jean.

Hello Rob,
It was great meeting you two in Pittsburgh! I'll be looking forward to the photos that you or Lars took in the 'Burgh. I appreciate your pointer to the full-size photo, it is better appreciated in full size. I like the colors and the geometric shapes, I guess I like industrial art because I'm an engineer. 👍👍
Regards,
MT
