Yep, definitely clowning around! It also looks as though this is a case of the photographer-affecting-the behaviour of the photographee (if there's such a word :). A bit of selective levels adjustment can reduce the glare from the window.

An excellent addition to your series on trainlife. I particularly like the way the head of the person on the right has been tightly 'cropped' (whether when taking the photo or afterwards).

Train antics (fun)! I like the way the newspaper reader's face is hidden. It gives an air of mystery.

There is a bit of white glare on the window.
