Photographer's Note
When I visited the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam in 2016 I saw this woman trying to console her baby. Beside them a man, who looked like he could have been the baby's grandfather, was standing passively, just watching, unable to help.
Nobody noticed that I took a photo. Here is a larger version.
But how could they bring a pram into the museum?
To be continued in the workshop.

Hello Gert,
Almost managed to fool me with the main picture's note, but reading the WS note realized how strange that would be for a mother to pose like this...
Nicely applied both posts, bravo.
Wish you a nice weekend,

Hej Gert,
Et udmærket indtryk fra museet med manden der bare står og venter ved siden af moren og barnevognen, mens han vist tænker på hvad han skal gøre med eller ved det. Meget godt fanget.

Ha! Ha! Gert, this could have been a good April Fool photograph!
I'm surprised that you haven't posted this earlier!
From the thumbnail, I couldn't decide whether this was a piece of art, with one part morphing into another, or whether it was actually a family group!
You made a super job, with your angles, of fooling us for quite a while!!
Have a good w/e, without endangering yourself,
Bev :-)

Gert, the sculpture placed in the middle of the floor inside the museum creates the illusion to be real. It represents a mother trying to console her baby in his pushchair. You pull out the camera quickly to include the visitor into the frame. A spontaneous photo well taken. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hi Gert,
You have captured well the action of the mother trying to console her baby and of the man waitin for a happy ending. The point pf view is showing the details of the stroller and of the clothings of the persons. The surrounding light has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Gert, you certainly had me fooled!
Altogether it is a very strange piece; thank you for the alternative angle, that explains it more fully.
The man is perfectly placed, hands on hips studying the work.
Art galleries and museums are great for studying human behaviour.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Gert,
Very curious scene here. I almost thought the mother was one of those very human-like sculptures. Well done.

Hello Gert,
Only in the workshop I realized that the whole was a work of art. But there you forgot to show the male part of the artwork :)
It looks lifelike on your main photo.
Very funny. But I wonder if it is allowed to laugh in the museum ... Maybe I would be thrown out because of my reaction.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Gert,
By Jove, you very nearly had me caught - at least until I saw your workshop image and couldn't quite believe that a museum visitor would naturally take on the role of a contortionist.
But what a remarkable artwork! I am sure that this museum must have been visited by Rob (alvaraalto) at some point as this sort of exhibit would be "right up his street".
Two superbly taken photographs, each of exquisite detail and sharpness and of excellent general quality too considering what must have been fairly poor light.
An amusing note too.
Brilliant!
Kindest regards,
John.

the WS was more funny and more fitted with an artwork. haha. nice flagrant of the man and the sculpture, watching fast we really could to think they were real personages.
here our mayor is furious because population is breaking the rules of the quarantine. he menaced us to close the shops again.. people abroad is arriving, more and more in the town..3 dead people in the largest cities around us.
take care

HI Gert,I had to change the comment after seeing the WS..hahahah ... the work is fantastic, in fact I was also wondering how the wheelchair could enter the museum, but perhaps there were soft rules in Amsterdam. Then I discovered the mystery .. great work and great post, very interesting indeed. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Gert, I am fascinated by the hyperrealistic paintings or sculptures. It is really difficult to imagine that they are not real. Unfortunately, I have seen only a few examples. Are you sure that the "grandfather" isn't also a part of it? Anyway, great scene. I wonder how it is made, for instance the hair. Is it also from resin? Have you looked inside if there was a baby in the pram?
Fantastic picture.

You should have uploaded this on April 1st. When I looked at the photo, I thought there was something suspicious about your note! 👍🏻👍🏻

Dear Gert,
I hope that the man sooner or later realized that there is no way to help the mother, who is only a sculpture. :)
A nice glimpse, a nothing special!
Have a nice Sunday!
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hi Gert
now that's a weird scene, and why is her leg up - as if she's trying to do her best imitation of a male dog peeing haha.
Very strange, but that's why its an eye catcher of a photo.
Surprised you waited 4 years to post this one. I have to say, I really like it. I wonder what the artist is trying to convey. cheers

Bonjour, cher Gert,
J'aime la posture de l'homme en regardant cette "supposée" mère de famille avec son enfant !
L'on sent chez l'homme un air dubitatif !
Très bon sujet et bien présenté.
Amitiés.

Hi Gert.
Surprising sculpture made with perfect realism, both in the baby's cart, and in the woman, although the surprising thing about her is the not at all real posture, a woman does not adopt that posture to see or comfort her baby, the man I think looks a bit surprised by this original art.
Good POV, very pleasing to the eye.
Colorful, sharp and bright are captured effectively.
Very good composition, magnificent presentation.
Have a good weekend.
Warm greetings.
Luis.

Hello Gert,
It is unbelievable that IB does not employ a technician to solve this software problem in half an hour. Maybe everyone is busy solving bigger problems now and it will be all right again in the future, but I have as little hope as you do.
It's amazing that I missed this buggy at the “Stedelijk”.
Fortunately, you were more alert and took this attractive photo.
Have a nice day, groet Rob

This post really made me smile. I did think, for a moment, that the woman with a pram looked almost like a sculpture, but then, having read your note, I was reassured she was real. Then I opened the workshop photo... :-D
I almost expected another WS saying the man is also a work of art...
