Photographer's Note

Akrobaten ('the acrobat') is a 206-meter long pedestrian bridge that stretches across the tracks of Oslo central station, connecting the two areas Grønland and Bjørvika. It is designed by L2 Architects, a firm located in Oslo.

The construction is made of steel and glass, with a cutting-edge architecture that has made it a popular spot for photo and film shoots. The bridge offers great views of Oslo's new row of high rises and Barcode. Its colourful lighting makes for an exciting crossing after dark.

Akrobaten was awarded 1st price (Certificate of Excellence) in ECCS, European Award for Steel Bridges, in 2012.

A good one looking along the bridge with its overhead structures. The patterns of the Deloitte building complement the bridge.

Hello Daniel,

The buildings look ultra modern, like the sort of pictures we used to be shown, of cities in the future! Each of the skyscrapers has its own exterior patterns, its own shape and own height, very well captured!
I like how you have introduced us to the buildings, via this glass-sided walkway and strong bridge supports.

Hi Daniel,

This brings back nice memories for me. Oslo is quite a modern looking city but stylish at the same time. Good use of the pedestrian bridge overhang to frame the city skyscrapers. Tfs!
