Aurlandsfjorden, Sogn of Fjordane

Wonderful Aurlandsfjorden seen from the small village of Undredal. The mountain on the right is Støkkarberg, 1045 meter

It is one of the arms of Sognefjord, which is the longest fjord in Europe, the deepest in Norway and the second longest in the world, with its 204 km long. It reaches a maximum depth of 1,308 m below sea level. Cliffs surrounding the fjord rise almost sheer from the water to heights of 1000m and more as in this picture. Others main arms are Årdalsfjorden, Lustrafjorden, Lærdalsfjorden, Sogndalsfjorden and Fjærlandsfjorden.
