Photographer's Note
The Wawel Hill - the castle, the cathedral and the residence of Polish Kings (X c. - XVII c.). The first settlement, the Wiślan, on the Wawel hill dates back to the VII c. In X c., several bishops of the early Christian church resided here and a Pre- Roman church, The Church of Our Lady Mary, was constructed. At the beginning of the XI c., a Roman-Gothic castle and cathedral were built. Reconstruction of the buildings was carried out under king Alexander Jagiellończyk at the beginning of the XVI c., with a number of chapels being added to the cathedral. In the crypt of the cathedral are the royal tombs from this bygone era. The castle was reconstructed again during the reign of King Sigmund Stary, 1517-1533 and the Renaissance arches and arcades were created in the courtyard. The state rooms around the courtyard and the arcades have come down to our present time almost untouched. By 1611 the Wawel was no longer considered the official residence of Polish Kings and Krakow lost its rights to being called the capital city of Poland.

Hi George,
Yesterday night, I was in a polish restaurant, with the same name as this capital, eating borsch soup, stroganoff beef and pierogi, so now, looking at your splendid photo, I guess I should go in Poland to get the real recipes...
All these domes and bell towers are awesome. It looks so good! The architecture seems rich and diversified in Krakow and your point of view makes it even more attractive. Excellent colours and light.
Cheers!

Hello George,
Very nice view of this interesting cathedral with its different coloured domes. Good animation provided by the people in the foreground. Pleasing tones and good clarity.

You could have avoided the slightly converging verticals of the buildings by keeping your camera straight instead of angling it upwards, but that works best when you can find something to fill the extra foreground that doing that would have given you.
Actually, I don't think it matters too much, and if anything the the size of the cathedral is emphasised by the 'leaning back' effect of the converging verticals.
It's a sunny (does the sun follow you around George?) colourful image and overall it's well taken.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi George!
What an impressive colour pallete my friend! But not just that. Splendid composition and top sharpness and contrast. Once again the human presence allows us to have the scale of the buildings, but also give "life" to the final result. Congratulations!

Nice Composition but there's too much red factor in your photo(s), that's they look unnatural. You need to work on oversaturation and balance of the colours...

Pawel
