Photographer's Note

Main building of the University of Wrocław.
The cornerstone was laid in 1728 when the construction of the Jesuit School of Philosophy and Catholic Theology began, called Leopoldina Academy.
The students were taught by Jesuits for whom the east wing was intended, in the west wing there were Baroque representative halls and lecture halls for students, including the Oratorium Marianum (concert hall) and the Aula Leopoldinum (the main hall of the university). In the central part of the building is the Mathematical Tower (42m high) also called the astronomical tower, where the astronomical observatory was located.
The building is 171 m long and serves as an administrative and representative building.
The university itself currently has 26,000 students in 10 faculties.
