Photographer's Note

If you remember my photo showing the “pyramid” dune photographed from above:
here you can spot the same structure on the horizon. The dark stain at the back marks the tree line just before the seacoast. I have a lot of excuses, why I could not come up with better compositions:
1. It took me a while to get to this location and I needed to return early because I had an appointment for a supervised Covid test which I needed to take before my flight back to the UK on the next day. So I was in rush and I could not wait for an evening light to have the sand patterns better lit by the sun.
2. I was accompanied by elderly members of my family and a child who, let’s say, were much less enthusiastic about exploring this area than me and my wife. In fact, we left our companions exhausted to rest at the start of the sand dunes trail while we walked through the dunes ourselves but still, we felt a pressure that they are waiting for us to get back.
3. The fencing, although I decided to adhere to the rules, was indeed quite limiting the options to compose. You could not get closer sometimes and of course with plenty of people passing through there was a little chance for original wild scenery or undisturbed sand pattern.
4. The weather was changeable. Even though in the first photo which I showed there was a blue sky, in my second photo from the dunes there were some clouds already and even though they were not heavy, they have covered the sun with a thin layer causing the light to be dispersed most of the time, which didn’t help to pronounce shadows on the dunes. There were brief moments of good light, but I was not always in a good spot to use these brief opportunities.

Even though I complain a lot and I am not too satisfied with the photos I took there, I was, of course, very excited to be able to visit this amazing and unique place. I just wish I had more time to explore all trails in that part of the park.
