Wroclaw Reflections
Centrally located in Europe, Wroclaw has a turbulent history. Located in a fertile agricultural area along the Oder and at the crossroads of two main trade routes (Via Regia and Amber Road), the city has been at the interest of many different rulers' struggles for supremacy.
We see this reflected in the different names under which the city is known: Polish: Wrocław, German: Breslau, Silesian German: Brassel, Czech: Vratislav, Latin: Vratislavia
The rich history can still be seen in the center of the city with a beautiful town hall, various churches, commercial buildings, cultural buildings, etc.
Much of this can be seen in the series of photos that Lars posted of Wroclaw on this site some time ago.
I start my impressions of our visit to the city with three reflections.
The first photo invites you to choose appropriate glasses to view the city.
A photo taken in the Kuźnicza (51.112972, 17.034538)
With our new glasses we can view the double portrait of the beautiful, richly decorated old town hall.
From the Oławska, (51.109088, 17.032923) we see the building and its reflection in a shop window.
The first parts of the town hall date from the thirteenth century.
The third photo shows that also in Wroclaw old and new can enhance each other's beauty. We can see from the Stare Miasto
(51.109103, 17.039093) the reflection of St. Adalbert's Church (Dominikanie we Wrocławiu - kaplica bł. Czesława) in the modern facade of a hotel.

Hello Rob
Superb use of repetition with the woman with hair in the bottom left corner very nicely breaking the pattern. The couple at top left add a touch of realism. Tfs!

Hello Rob,
Very good, "traditional", reflections in both WS and a funny composition in the main photo. It's like a pictorial joke about seeing and observing. It's smart and witty and "eye-catching",
Have a nice and safe weekend,
Gert

Hello Rob,
I always know that we will have three delightful photographs to see when you post!
Your main shot is both original and eye-catching, (forgive the pun!) and begins the theme of reflections.
I just love your w/s, too.
The reality and the reflections complement each other really well. I would have loved to have taken these!
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi Rob,
I like the comparison between the heads wearing glasses and the reflections. The point of view is showing the details of the reflections and of the display case. It is clear and sharp. Have a nice day.

Hi Rob,the main photo is undoubtedly the most original, but all three are really fantastic, I love the vertical half and half of the WS and the brilliance of the church reflected in the modern buildings. I tried to see you reflected in the main photo but I couldn't, you hid very well ... ahaha ... Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Goedemiddag Rob,
Goed foto werk Rob, bedankt.

Hello Rob, The main picture is amusing with this display of glasses. Nice reflections in glass surfaces in Workshop pictures. Especially St. Adalbert(Wojciech) is very often shown, like here: https://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=7&p=937950.
Have a nice Sunday

Hello Rob, any one of these three could have been a main post.
With your usual flair, you decided to introduce us to your theme of reflections with this rather amusing picture from an opticians window display.
The workshop pictures show some very beautiful old buildings contrasting with the modern buildings in which they are reflected.
The colours are delightful, as is the sharp quality.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hi Rob,
nice collection of reflections. It looks as if the past year was very successful photographically. You made a lovely trip through three countries!
Interestingly my parents in law live near Wroclaw so two years ago we made the family trip to Prague and last year to Dresden. We have covered so part of your trip :)
I haven't visited Wroclaw town centre for a while now, so your and Lars' photos inspire me to do it this year, if at all possible...
Very well done,
M
