The Last Light of Last Year, before the first night of the LAST year.

We are at the 36 parallel. The cliff where Atlantis tomb stands is barely visible as the farthest point of the coastline.

We are close to the center of the Azores high for almost all the the last four weeks.
At protected coves (sea level) of this Southwesternmost European corner it was the 28 th consecutive day with maximum temperature above 20 C and minimum temperature above 14 C.

Explanation of why temperature drops not one but two degrees Celsius with each 100 m increase in elevation at these islands
