A cachelot, natural world's deepest diver, in what could be the begin of a voyage to the depths from where Mid Atlantic highest peak rises, more than 5,000 meters below.

The Cachelot holds some other natural world records:

Largest known toothed mammal ever.
Largest brain of any living creature on Earth. The brain of a mature cachelot weighs 7 kg (15 pounds), though there have been specimens with 9 kg (20 pound) brains.
Largest living predator on Earth.

Great Photo
I Like the prespective of the Pico mountain and the tail of the Cachelot.
This Islands are realy beutifull.

Hi Ilena
A foto teria ficado perfeita e um assombro se tivesses tido um pouco mais abertura focal e assim apanhares o Pico por inteiro e "dar" um pouco mais de mar para o cachalote(está um pouco comprimido no canto!). Perante este constrangimento uma outra abordagem também resultaria bem. Mas estas coisas são fracções de instantes e sorte.
Gosto da oportunidade do disparo.

Great POV and composition. The mountains in the background are great with the whale in the FG. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness. The cloud line adds a lot to the photo.
