Photographer's Note

Faro as a holiday destination is often overlooked, regarded simply as a point of entry to southern Portugal, via the main airport of the region. This has allowed Faro to retain its peaceful ambience and traditional charm that is centred around the pretty walled Old Town.

Faro is situated on the edge of the Ria Formosa national park, a series of saltwater lagoons and mudflats that are a haven for migratory birds and wildlife. Beyond the Ria Formosa national park are the three sandbar islands, which are the location for Faro’s beaches and are some of the least developed in the Algarve.

Hello Daniel,
The well handled light and shadow contrasts make for a lovely atmosphere, to which the people also contribute. I like the nicely patterned paving and the detail to be observed in the façades on the right.

The "sails" above the street create a nice light which allows us to see the beautifully tiled street better. The people animate the view.

I got the train from Lisbon to Faro, but did not stop there, continuing on to Tavira. I like the patterned designs in the piazza. Godd sharpness and shadow detail. Tfs!

A splendid idea to cover the street this way with huge tarps. I suppose it will temper the heath by the full sunshine, but it also gives an interesting light condition and a pleasant atmosphere in this beautiful yellow ambiance.

Those sail looking shades look perfectly on this picture. Really a charming view of this small pedestrian area of central Faro. I had a pleasure to visit the place about a year ago, but didn't see this when the light was just right like on your shot.

This is real a very nice panorama view about the area.
