Photographer's Note
The Bica Funicular (Elevador da Bica or Ascensor da Bica) is a funicular in Lisbon, that forms the connection between the Calçada do Combro/Rua do Loreto and the Rua de S. Paulo.
The Bica funicular was opened on 28 June, 1892. It climbs the Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo for 245 metres from the Rua S. Paulo. The lower station of this funicular railroad is almost hidden behind a facade on the Rua de S. Paulo with the inscription "Ascensor da Bica". It was constructed by Raoul Mesnier de Ponsard and opened to the public in 1892.
In 2002 it was designated a National Monument.

Hi Daniel - you seem to love the trams on the hills in Lisbon - well taken. You brought up the darker bits of the buildings very well.

Hello Daniel,
Very good composition playing with the perspective of the slopy street with the yellow color impacts on the tramway.

Hello Daniel,
A splendid capture of this funicular. It is well placed in the frame and stands out nicely from its surroundings. I like the lighting and the contrast offered by the attractively lit sky. Superb colours and sharpness.

Bonjour Daniel,
J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage vertical qui semble ne faire qu'un avec cette rue étroite et très pentue. On ressent l'effort et le ciel est magnifique comme arrière plan.

Hi Daniel,
You captured a street scene with approaching funicular, a symbol of Lisbon. I like the blue sky above the narrow street, very pleasant.

Hi Daniel.
Sensational perspective, giving the rails, leading the eye, to the charming tram, which puts a nice touch of color on the street, which has all the charm of this old city.
A perfect sharpness, well managed with this lighting.
I wish you a good day.
Best regards.
Luis.

Hello Daniel,
What fascinates me with the funiculars and ordinary trams in Lisbon is how they are often found in the narrowest streets where they almost become a part of people's living rooms. They pass by the kitchen windows, a metre away from the laundry, almost touching the balconies, their screeching sound blending with the sounds of the TV sets or people's dreams at night. You capture this very well in this photo. Besides, the light is superb.
Kind regards,
Gert

I've never been to Lisbon Daniel but if I did I think that I would pay particular attention to the trams which you have a love for. This shot is really well composed with the series of parallel tracks and net of overhead wires pulling the eye to the tram and pink building beyond. Quite a gritty looking side street and I like that. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello Daniel
This is a very charming little funiculaire that goes up that steep hill. Not much space for passers by either. The funiculaire looks very much at home in this suroundings.
have a good day

Hello Daniel,
a very lovely and elegant composition with attractive perspective and amazing ligthing. A wonderful way to describe this iconic means of transport and how firmly it's integrated in Lisbon's daily life and urban sceneries. There's a marvellous rendering of textures and colours, there's extraordinary clarity both in the shady street and on the sunlit background. A picture that's captivating to watch and study. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania
