St. Gabriel's Tower, a photo from Lisboa, South

Photographer's Note

One more picture taken from the Estação do Oriente, modern train station in Parque das Nações in Lisbon. This time a picture taken in a daylight and off the centre to allow a glimpse towards one of two Lisbon iconic towers (Torres São Rafael/São Gabriel). Below I copied some information about the building which you see in the centre from the Portuguese Wikipedia:

Torres São Rafael/São Gabriel are two emblematic luxury housing developments located in Lisbon; Portugal, in Parque das Nações (site of the 1998 World Exhibition), flanking the Vasco da Gama shopping centre. Both at 110m high, they are the tallest residential buildings in the country, having become an icon of Lisbon's skyline. Its inspiration came from the caravels used by the Portuguese at the time of the Discoveries, alluding to the country's history, keeping in line with the ideology of the place where they are built (Expo 98).

Hello Mariusz,
I think this photo is taken on the parking lot or at the bus stand.
You surely like the combination of straight and curving lines.
Their shadow lines on the floor also fit in nicely with this.
I don't know if you've ever been to Valencia but you could take pictures of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias there all day long and yes, the beach isn't far away.

A very similar photo from same POV is in my gallery with the tower above the Vasco-da-Gama mall across from the station, Mariusz, unfortunately - not a good outcome on mine.
Your picture has a superb outlines especially with the modrerfn canopy and bridge.

excellent use of these structures getting many aspects of them, a beautiful beautiful and well done as ever.
I visited this place in few time, only to visit the big aquarium. I remember a couple swapping sweet phrases in french when I entered and few time after they were having a discussion in portuguese with many bad names. then I discovered they were portuguese immigrants, curiously when they were very irritated only the bad words in portuguese were strong enough to hurt the partner. kkk

Ciao Mariusz,a different face of Lisbon, something new even if this "Calatrava" architectural style has left its mark on too many modern works, even in Italy. The photo is exceptional as usual. Regarding Zanzibar, it is certainly possible to go on a safari but you need to fly and it is certainly very expensive. However, in my opinion safaris are very boring, a bit like sailing between the Norwegian fjords, 2 or 3 days at the most are enough .. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

This is an exciting photograph, where you have emphasised the long lines and the many curves of the ultra modern train station.
I like how we are encouraged to follow the lines and are not disappointed when we come upon other, different structures.

Excellent use of the foreground steel to point to the main subject. I must confess, a name like "St. Gabriel's Tower" conjures up images medieval towers, this one is a surprise.
