Funky Subway Station, a photo from Lisboa, South

Photographer's Note

I posted a similar photo a few years ago from this same location, but its certainly worth another look from another angle.

Before I went to Lisbon, I researched online where to find the weirdest, strangest subjects to photograph.

This is one of the places that came up, and it was only an easy subway ride away from where I was staying.

Its a photographers dream here. I have many abstract shots too, but they're almost too abstract and I don't many TE members would like them - so i'll stick to these more conventional shots.

Hi Craig,
Wow, I wish I had known when I was there. I remember many impressive subway stations there, but I think I missed this one. All the diagonal lines give a confusing appearance, I think super wide angle is a big part of this impression. And I like to be confused on this case. Colorful plates are beautiful.

Hello Craig,
I wonder if this place is as completely weird as it seems, or if you enhanced it by deliberately leaning the camera. Nothing looks straight, everything is tilted here and there, like a place that could make me slightly seasick. But it looks terrific, and no doubt the bright ceiling is the best of it all.

I used the Lisbon metro a few times to get around the city, and both in and out of Lisbon, so I saw quite a few different stations. Every one of them was unique and no 2 were the same. This is a superb example of the many stylish railway stations of Lisbon. Tfs!

Hello Craig, you quite rightly composed this shot with the emphasis on the very colourful ceiling.
Not an easy one due to the bright lights and the darker ground level foreground.
It is a fantastic design. I can imagine that you were spoilt not knowing where to point your camera with the possibilities of many shots.

This is funky for sure; there are so many shapes and colors to play with, and it's pretty empty, too. The artwork on the ceiling really jumps out compared to the more muted colors in the rest of the station. Take care!

Wow, what a fantastic subway station, so much better than the dark, grey and concrete ones in so many other places. The colourful ceiling looks great and is really well lit, too. Excellent photo with good clarity.

At first sight a very special design for this corridor of a metro station.
My first impression was that the ceiling must be supported in several places.
I think this is a place you have to see in real life to really understand. Too bad you didn't write down which metro station this is.
The many surfaces in different colours in the ceiling are of course the eye-catcher.

Great spot indeed! The ceiling is so nicely decorated with the colorful geometric shapes! It feels like a dream or a view through a kaleidoscope. The bottom part is anchoring it in reality.

Surprising this very modern design of a metro station in Lisbon, I was several times in this city, but many years ago and it has been renovated a lot, this colorful ceiling gives a strong impact.
