Castle on a eiland II, a photo from Santarem, South

Photographer's Note

This is our second post from this wonderful castle.
The Almourol Castle is situated in the small Almourol island, a rocky island, in the middle of the Tagus river. The castle was a Knights Templar. The castle (a national monument) and the tiny fluvial island may be visited. Visitors only pay for an inexpensive boat trip across the river, which is the only way for visitors to reach the castle. We had the luck to have this lovely clouds as bg for the castle what make the view splendid.

i don't know what version that I prefer . This one is excellent , too , in this vertical format , with three focal points : the castle of course , but also the boat and the pine tree ; And this so beautiful sky .

This is a nicely composed shot of this fine castle with the small boat adding interest in the foreground. The curving waterline leads the eye into the shot nicely. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has great sharpness.

the castle in the scene looks like to take off on this blue and puffy sky.I like the presentation of it on the hill, as the existence of the moored boat on the foreground. Well done.

This shot works very well - I like the quite wonky nature of the castle - does not seem to be any parallel lines involved in it at all. A graet sky and the tree to the left is fabulous.

Hallo Kik,

Net alsof deze foto een verhaaltje verteld..
"Je komt met een bootje aan, je gaat stapt
uit en je geniet van deze omgeving".
Dat gevoel heb ik dus nu en je krijgt de
neiging om de koffers in te pakken.

Oftewel: heel goed je standpunt bepaald
en heel goed alles verzorgd erop gezet.
