Photographer's Note
Today i present you another image from the gardens of de Place at Queluz, a city near Lisbon. The inspiration for the palace and gardens is based on the architecture of Versailles. This is a image of the 'hanging gardens'. The Hanging Garden owes its name to the fact that it is installed above a reservoir which collects the surplus water from the lake, an architectonic solution devised by Robillion to overcome the difference in height and raise it to the level of the Ceremonial Façade. It is also called the Garden of Neptune, and it contains a lake of the same name and also the Lake of Amphitrite.

Hoi Ko,
Bedankt.
Prettig weekend,
John

Hi Kik, yes I thought this was Versailles when I first saw it in miniature. It seems Portugal has everything a photographer could want. What beautiful symmetry here you have captured and the razor-sharp depth of field accentuates that symmetry. Excellent rich colour-rendering especially with the harsh lighting conditions. Congratulations and thanks for your Note, have a good weekend, Lisa

Hi kiks,
This is an example on how to make a successful image by using simple elements, this is what photography is all about! I love the way you creatively play with the strong curves and straight lines here, very graphically appealing with good perspective and dynamism inviting us to hover around this palace garden. Well composed, fine light and color management superb clarity and sharpness throughout, A very well done! Congrats

Hello,
I like the evasive lines and the deep blue. Makes me miss the summer a lot! I would have cropped the amphora part on the right side but it is my own point of view.

Hi Kik.
Stunning perspective of this beautiful composition, wonderful this alternation of light and shadows of the steps that guide the eyes to the sculptures and gardens of the fund.
A brilliant light which gives a nice color. Well done.
Good start to week. Best regards.
Luis.

Hallo Kik,
Mooi genomen standpunt, want de trap
creëert een hele mooie diepte in de foto.
Ook de compositie is heel goed, deze zorgt
voor veel aangename rust in de foto.
Verder is de foto heel goed belicht.
Vriendelijke groeten,
Robert

Hi Kik,
Very good recognition to take something seemingly generic and present it in a way that is visually attractive. The long slender lines of the steps with their few curves, angles and the play of shadows really makes this interesting...especially because it draws the the viewer into the image as it follows that pattern from the bottom of the frame. Brilliantly done!
Cheers,
Jason
