Sunset in Paul do Mar, a photo from Madeira, Islands

Photographer's Note

Pour réaliser une bonne photo de coucher de soleil , il faut un ciel magnifique et un sujet intéressant . Le sujet , je l'aimais bien , à Paul do Mar , avec la statue "O homen do mar" , les maisons du village de pêcheurs , et même les lignes électriques . Le ciel n'est pas extraordinaire , mais c'est le plus beau que j'ai eu ici lors de mon séjour .
Et puis , il est si agréable de flaner le soir sur les quais tranquilles du petit port , dans la douceur madèrienne .

I really like the light and the time and place.
The composition but not completely, too much detail on the right....of course, very subjective opinions :)
I suggest a more narrow frame.

beautiful sunset capture.
You had an amazing sky there and you have well used the opportunity. Great variety of color tones in the sky.
The silhouette of the statue and some other elements enhance the composition and add some more interest to the view.

Bonjour Denis,

Tu as tout dit dans ta note. Un coucher de soleil seul n amene a rien, mais peut etre un bel ecrin pour mettre en valeur un sujet.
J aime beaucoup cette approche en ombre chinoise qui nous laisse un brin interogatif: est ce bien une statue ou une vraie personne.

Initially i thought that was a real person standing there.
none the less, it doesn't take away from the photo's beauty or romantic flare.
the orange and dark silhouettes are a visual delight.

Tout est dit dans ta note mais je trouve que le ciel n'est pas si mal que ça; Je suppose que tu avais repéré l'endroit depuis quelque temps. Bel effet silhouette (à première vue, j'ai cru que tu avais demandé à un modèle de prendre la pose pour toi) et jolie composition (je me serais bien passé des poteaux et des fils mais pas facile de les effacer tous!)

gestion des lumières exceptionnelle, tout est bien rendu y compris les rais colorés. L'avant plan pas trop envahissant, est exposé comme il le fallait, jouant aux ombres chinoises.

It looks fantastic shot with the main focal fully silhouetted. Not an easy task though, a challenging shot against the sunlight. Awesome golden tones and the dramatic clouds are really wonderful making this shot so attractive as it does convey a mood of peace and tranquility Beautiful shot, well done. Congrats.
