Photographer's Note
Horizontal lines evoking those who wrote the decisive chapters of the world as we know it.
They announce the sun about to appear to heat the air, the ocean and the land.
There are extremely few places on Earth where the results will be similar to what you feel here.
Because here is where, for european races, the sun does it best.
Here is also where you can see the first two uninhabited islands to be discovered in recorded History, by a portuguese named Zarco, 1419.
50 years later, another portuguese named Zarco would call home one of them, the island hiding behind the cliffs.
A few years later, he would follow the setting sun to enter the History books as the "genovese" Cristóbal Colón, Christopher Columbus or Cristóvão Colombo, the discoverer of America.
True Luxury you could never buy: the writers of those lines appeared within one century and one country of just over one million. From the Zarcos to Afonso de Albuquerque and Magellan.
Fernão de Magalhães, the man that after sailing 38 days through the strait he named after him, connected the Atlantic and the Ocean he would be the first to cross and he named the Pacific.
In 1492 you could still buy some true luxury items. First of all, tropical spices. In fact pepper was the first reason why Zarco, aka Columbus, was sent by portuguese king John II, to divert the spanish ships from the path of Bartolomeu Dias or Bartholomew Diaz and Vasco da Gama, the men that connected the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean.
But today, are there any true luxury items left on the market? Or did we arrive at the end of the road, like Magellan did in 1521, following the setting sun?
This time the signs mark the end of another circumnavigation.
They signal the days when true luxury becomes priceless. As in the days of the Garden of Eden.
Another circle is closed.

Really nice shot !
It should be a nice moment to be there waiting the good moment to take a picture ...
Beautiful sky colors, and nice reflects on the sea.

A very intriguing sky to say the least, I love fantastic colours like this!! A very calm sea that I'd love to be lying on a yacht watching those colours change to night.. well done
