Photographer's Note
The day after finishing my best half marathon ever...my legs doesn't want to move, so what to do? Sit inside and look at Romania pictures of course!
I can't say that I know Braşov. I was there for 7 hours and didn't even got to touch their own Hollywood sign, but this is my general touristic impression of Braşov as I know it.
It is really the pearl of Romania. My bet is that not many Norwegians, western Europeans or Americans have heard of Braşov. It lies in the shadow of practically every other look-a-like intimate cities and villages in the Alps. Because Braşov really looks like those famous ski destinations, and the historical city center looks more like the center of a small village in the Alps than a city of 230,000 people.
But...there is a difference. Braşov isn't in the Alps. Braşov is far into the Carpatian mountains, which gives the city an eastern touch that you don't find in any Alp village. And no matter how much it looks like, Braşov isn't a small town. There's a lot going on all the time. It's a city of life and it's a colourful city to walk around in. And I must admit that I quite badly underestimated the amount of pictures I would take. The city is absolutely worth a few days of visit!
I'll try to get back to it's unique history with my next photo...

Nice to be able to get such a feel for this city in such a short time there, Frederik! I like the scene you've given us here, showing the styles of architecture and the snowy hills beyond. And congratulations on the half marathon as well!

Hei Fredrik,
I spent two or three days here a couple of years ago and quite enjoyed it, but if you go back to Romania you should know that Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca are probably better places :-). But each one has his own preferences. In any case you have taken a fine photo of one of the nicest views of the city. It takes in some of the fine buildings of the old town, the famous cathedral and the mountain just outside. The colours are very good too, well saturated and very natural.
Hilsen fra Stockholm,
Gert

Hello Fredrik, really nice image here. Brasov is one of the most beautiful cities in Romania. I like your view here towards the Black Church. Good take here, in March there is snow indeed. Well done.
Regards!
