The Moon is the only natural satellite of Earth:

Called Luna by the Romans, Selene and Artemis by the Greeks, and many other names in other mythologies.

The Moon, of course, has been known since prehistoric times. It is the second brightest object in the sky after the Sun. As the Moon orbits around the Earth once per month, the angle between the Earth, the Moon and the Sun changes; we see this as the cycle of the Moon's phases. The time between successive new moons is 29.5 days (709 hours), slightly different from the Moon's orbital period (measured against the stars) since the Earth moves a significant distance in its orbit around the Sun in that time.

A dreamy picture, Veronica, and a creative use of flash I'd say, excellent composition and framing! Would be even better to see the second lantern completely but it is minor suggestion, the picture is great as it is!

this is an absolutely excellent shot. The colour of the sky is a nice inky blue and you have brought out the street light and moon in a well balanced greyish white. All the elements work well here as this is quite effective, with the moon appropriately placed in the frame. An impressive work.

Une composition assez abstraite, l'art de donner à une vue, une apparence de dessin.
Les contrastes dans les blancs sont très minimaux mais ceux des blancs par rapport aux bleus, exceptionnels.

Veronica, you have a keen eye for such shots and this one was well realized. Good exposure on the moon here I notice. I would be tempted to have converted this to B&W with the help of the dodge and burn brushes in PS or whatever. Very well done..

Hello Veronica,
I like the shot and the romantic sentiment resonating in both the dove and the moon. As a professor of physics my enitire adult my life, I enjoyed seeing the paramaters.

Here is another specification: the Sun is about 395 times farther from the earth than is the moon, and the sun's diameter is about 395 times greater than that of the moon. That means that seen from the earth, the moon just about exactly covers the moon, so that in a solar eclipse you find a perfect fit (they create similar triangles). In 1919 Einstein's theory of General Relativity was tested by English and German scientists who journeyed to Principe Island off the coast of West Africa. The mass of the sun was seen to bend the light from a distant star, observable because the moon covered the sun and produced the effect of night.

Your photo is wonderful, beautifully composed and exposed.
