Hello Chris,
It would be difficult to capture that perfect 7 pointed star, but this is good photo anyway. What we see of the fortifications is quite impressive and looks like it is in a good shape. Both towers are magnificent and you were fortunate to have great, warm light blessing your photo.

Beautiful architecture and not looking like a fortification at this view, it does certainly look strong and very imposing. The curve adds superb depth and the extra drop from the top of the tower to beneath the curve makes the building seem even bigger. Fantastic light too

Fantastic composition from Alba Iulia. Lovely contrast of the yellow gate tower and the blue sky behind. Impressive high walls. Such towers with gates are typical for Orthodox architecture. Was it possible to clinmb it?

Hello Chris,
Excellent capture of this curiously designed castle that more resembles a modern church from this angle. The light was ideal to bring out the golden tones and detail in the brickwork to optimal effect.

That wall is quite massive and your angle gives good perspective on it. Warm low angle light is excellent and looks particularly good on sandstone walls.

The light is excellent making the colours seem to glow.
I like your chosen viewpoint, the golden, textured wall leading so effectively from the f/g to the strong, vertical details of the castle buildings.
I have to say, it doesn't look like a castle but it is a very dominant, beautiful building.

What a lovely photo of this charming tower in the castle drenched in the afternoon sun! I like the curvature of the ramparts, first leading the eye to the arch underneath the tower and then teasingly leading away from the tower.

wonderful high quality postcard like presentation. Very well selected angle with the interesting geometry of the foreground. The light was magnificent with the walls being gold and contrasting with the blue sky so well. Nice asymmetric composition. Very interesting and quite unique architecture. I have never heard about this place before.
