The Brocken Spectre, a photo from Zilinsky, Central

Photographer's Note

That is the second photo of Brocken Spectre I took few weeks ago in Tatra Mountains. As soon as clouds got thicker I saw the person standing opposite me. It was very clear reflection and an amazing feeling. I don't know whether I should be delighted by that fact because according to the legend once a climber is startled by the sudden appearance of a human figure with a ring of light around its head, the climber will fall to his death, killed by his own shadow that he saw and the ring of light are his own glory ring. I hope it's only a legend ;)

it's alway nice to take a phot from that phenomen and here the spectre seems to be two with this very nice low light!
a chance to see it and not like this legend the futur end...

Hi, this photo is not so strong as the previous one, where the surroundings can be seen. However, someone could tell from this picture that it is an appearance of Jesus or Mary with a halo.

Since you got back to civilization unhurt and post these pictures, now you know you can feel delighted. But take care on your next journeys to mountains... ;-)

Cze¶æ Kinga!

Niesamowite zdjêcie, bardzo mistyczne. Nieostro¶æ daje wra¿enie obrazu. Zgadzam siê z jednym z przedmówców, ¿e wersja bardziej oddalona z panoram± jest jeszcze mocniejsza. W ¿yciu nie s³ysza³em o takim zjawisku, tym bardziej dziêki za zamieszczenie tej foty i opis. Te¿ mam nadziejê, ¿e to tylko legenda ;)

An unusual shot with a most interesting write up. Since you are still with us I assume the story is more fiction than fact. What is causing the halo?

Hello Kinga,
let legends remain legends! And any legend or superstition is as real as you allow it to look/seem real, in your mind :) In other words, our energy always travels ahead of us.
I am very impressed by this photo (as well as by the previous one). It looks kinda "religious" to me. A rare thing to take photo of! Very good!

This is more focused than the previous one, but even more mysterious... and the "spectre" colors thru the mist, with that shadow is absolutely amazing...

Witaj Kinga,
To zjawisko ciagle nie przestaje mnie fascynowac. Widzialem go w....samolocie ;) nie wiem, jak mam sobie to zinterpretowac. Gratuluje spotkania i fotografii. Sam chcialbym miec cos takiego w swojej galerii. Zgodnie z legenda musze go zobaczyc jeszcze raz, by "odczynic" wyrok bo to podobno jest do 3 razy sztuka. Jak tu teraz latac?
