Lake Bled Shoreline, a photo from Gorenjska, West

Photographer's Note

A view of Lake Bled from a gap in the forest along the shoreline. I walked around the lake rather than catch the tourist boats to the castle at right. A very nice way to wile away a sunny afternoon with tea and home made cake at the end of the trip. The lake is 29.5 metres at its deepest point. The circuit track is 6 km.

Hello Chris,
That must have been quite a long walk. Good for your health and good for photo opportunities, probably better than from a boat. You found a good gap between the vegetation for this nice view, with the tower just barely rising above the reeds.

Hello Chris

Focus on the lake, wonderfully framed within its natural surroundings. The famous church is still visible but takes a backseat in this composition. Great work, congratulations.

Hello Chris,

I like your use of the f/g vegetation, giving a sense of secrecy to the view beyond, as if we are spying! The trees reveal lovely textures and shadows as well as creating a good sense of depth.

Quite an idyllic view of the lake. The sunlight from the side is wonderful and shows the colours of the trees so well and they surround the blue of the calm water very nicely.

We also walked around the lake but did get a boat out to the chapel on the small island. A good photo of this beautiful lake well framed by the tree and grasses.

Hi Chris,
It's a beautiful day in November. Not very much autumn colours but it looks great anyway. Excellent viewpoint between reeds and trees. Sidelight is just right.
