The Dance of Cats and Geese
This for me is a very rare use of flash but here there was little other option as this scene was in near darkness some distance below me.

Take your partners for the triangle dance! (Where's Evren!?)

I was walking up the narrow road alongside the near dry River Darro, which skirts along the bottom of the Alhambra, back to our apartment in the early hours when I chanced to look over the edge of the wall above the river, near the high arched bridge up from the city centre.

I couldn't quite believe the scene below - maybe 2-3 times as many cats and geese as you see here mixing as if at some party! Of course the answer has to be food but I was just amazed at their tolerance of each other - I've never seen this before with cats and birds - I'm sure it must happen elsewhere but surely it's rare.

I isolated these six for a clear composition and for the way they were circling around.

I hope you enjoy it!

p.s there are some interesting and puzzling things in this picture - my son picked up on them straight away! No shadows! The forward duck is side on but I'm looking down on them from above etc.
