History of the town: Founded in prehistoric times by the Tertessians, it was known as Tamisa by the Romans; later the name changed to Mixa and finally to the current Mijas. The Romans were replaced by the Visigoths, and then, after 714, by the Moors.

At the time of emirate of Córdoba, it was conquered by Umar ibn Hafsun, remaining under the rule of Bobastro until the latter was defeated by Abd al-Rahman III.

In 1487 Mijas resisted to the attacks of the Catholic Monarchs during the siege of Málaga; later the inhabitants surrendered and were most sold as slaves. During the Revolt of the Comuneros it remained loyal to the Spanish crown, which granted Mijas the title of 'Muy Leal ("Very Loyal").

a ppicture should mostly tell a little story, and this one does this in my humple opinion perfectly..
perfectly composed picture with that couple in the right position.. perfect sharpness, fine colors and a lovely picture..

A pleasant atmosphere to this well composed image. The couple walking arm in arm are well placed and sit well against the whitewashed houses. Attractive shadow play and good rendering of the textures in the walls.

What caought my eyes in this lovely image, Malgorzata, is the nice play of shadows on left wall's, and the people stroll downhill that adding a vivid dynamic motion to the photo.
Flower-pots in a diagonal-decor on wall, and the inclussion of the lamp-post tell me you had premeditated this image very well.

Bonjour Malgorzata,

Mieux vaut avoir des souliers confortables pour marcher dans les belles rues andalouses. Le cadrage est parfait et nous montre bien le soin que les habitants apportent aux nombreuses boîtes à fleurs.

Fajna diagonalna kompozycja tego uroczego zakątka (albo uroczej prezentacji fragmentu normalnej uliczki). Na pierwszy rzut okaz rzuca się interesująca tekstura ścian wraz z miłą grą świateł i cieni(super światło i kolorystyka)

Hi Malgorzata - A relaxing walk down this quaint street looks so appealing. You have captured the textural and light and shade details on the walls nicely and I like the descending row of flower pots very much; there colour echoes perfectly with the tiled roof and green hillside. An excellent capture of a street in this white village. It is to my mind the Andalucia for tourists and the couple appear to be Japanese (or maybe Chinese - they are coming now) but a very pleasant and technically super shot.

strade strette senza traffico, casette graziose intonacate in bianco, fiori variopinti sulle finestre.
Niente di più rilassante che passeggiare in queste stradine e godersi un clima mediterraneo favoloso.
Ottimo scatto a testimonianza di un bel viaggio.

Une bonne composition avec ce couple de touristes bien placé dans l'image et cet alignement de pots de fleurs. Sur mon écran, le blanc des maisons parait un peu gris-bleu?
