Hello friends and colleagues, today I propose another view of the Plaza de Navarra with the fountain, in the background the casino building, in the charming city of Huesca, I hope you like, then some letters about the city.

Huesca (in Aragonese Uesca) is a city and Spanish municipality, capital of the homonymous province, pertaining to the independent community of Aragon. It is the seat of the diocese of Huesca and also the capital of the district of La Hoya de Huesca, to which its municipality belongs. Almost a quarter of the population of the province lives in it. It celebrates its main festivities in honor of San Lorenzo, patron saint of the city, from 9 to 15 August.

The river Isuela flows through Huesca and the river Flumen also flows around it, and it is also on the edge of the outer Pyrenees. From the city you can see the Sierra de Guara whose summit reaches 2077 m altitude, which is why it is also known as "the gate of the Pyrenees".

The history of Huesca began with the Iberians, who called it Bolskan and in it a local coin was minted of which numerous specimens have been found. The Romans conquered the city, famous for its mint as it has been said, and in it Quinto Sertorio, Roman general who was at the head of a Hispanic rebel confederation, constituted a center of Latin studies for the children of the Hispanic nobles. This school, sometimes called the Academy of Latinity, is often considered to be the predecessor of the medieval Sertorian University. The city was considered a Roman colony. After the Visigoths, the Arabs took the city, which became one of the northernmost cities of Al-Andalus. After the capture by the Christians, the city had a close link with the kings of Aragon.

At present it is the second city of Aragón and the headquarters of the Provincial Council of Huesca. The economy is based on the service sector with a tourism boom, followed by the industrial sector and with a long tradition of the agricultural sector, with cereal crops around the city.

Hello Angel,
The fountain makes a fine focal point in this well framed composition. I like the light and shadow contrasts and the definition to be observed in the water spouts. Very good rendering of the colours and excellent clarity.

Used nicely the available side light right there on the waterjets.
The round fontana and the surrounding houses unde4r variable shadows - and that's what makes this picture attractive.

A lovely capture of this square with the large fountain well placed in the centre in front of the façades, which form a nice, shaded backdrop. The sunlit spray of the fountains looks beautiful, very well captured.

Hello Angel,
A few years ago I've been in Aragon and spent also one day in Huesca. I remember the beautiful cathedral and its towers and also a square surrounded by beautiful buildings but I cannot remember this square with the fountain.
A very nice place with the many flowers and with the trees on the square.

P/D. Por donde has estado ahora?. Yo este año no he podido viajar en Junio, pues en Febrero me operaron de menisco, me infiltraron pero sigo con bastantes dolores, pues la rodilla esta un poco chunga, ahora me van a infiltrar celulas madre, veremos que tal y si puedo viajar en Septiembre a Sicilia, de momento estaremos en la sierra con reposo.

the lighting is back lit, but what can you really do about that right? not much. the fountain is very attractive, and you composed the scene well. sweet scene and shot
