Photographer's Note
A rock outcrop immediately east of the Refugio de los Cabrones is easily climbed and offers beautiful views of the surrounding peaks. I went there after supper waiting for the sun to set and hoping that the clouds would not swallow it before it would touch the horizon. I was rewarded with a magnificent vista and almost an hour of silence.
This is the view south towards the Picos de los Cabrones (2553 m), which I attempted climbing the following day.

Hallo Roland!
Your photo was taken in a wonderful light which "chisels" these beautiful rock face in a great way. The pin sharp picture nearly gives the impression of being there. A really gorgeous sight!
Greetings from summerly Germany!

Hello Roland,
I like this picture. This place is so... mineral : rocks and stones, some snow and almost nothing else.
The light on the summit is beautiful.
The composition is good too, even if I would have like to see more things in the bottom (but, then, you would have had an ultra-wide angle).

Hello Roland,
A fine capture of the mountains with a wonderful play of light and shadows. And above all, just beautiful to look at.

An hour of silence!
The clear atmosphere, this beautiful terrain, the contrast between the two plans is so good!
It worth standing and admiring such a view!
You managed very well the light and shadows on the slopes.

Great shot, Roland.
The play of light and shadow on the peaks really enhances the attractiveness of the view. The illumination at the top of the mountain is quite stunning, although I cannot imagine how breathtaking it must have been to witness first hand. Excellent sharpness and good framing. Well seen - thanks for sharing.

This is pure trivia, but the name of these peaks is rather funny to me, given that the Spanish I speak is Latin American. "Pico" is a fairly crude word in Chile, though it's just fine everywhere else. "Cabron" is a very strong word in Mexico, but in South America it's perfectly acceptable in most places. Rather funny how words have different meanings and connotations in different places.
Anyway, enough about that: on to the photo. This is a nice one. Those peaks are fantastic, especially with the light you caught. I also like that this was taken a little before sunset. As much as I like alpenglow, the sky's not very blue at sunset, and I like this view in a lot of ways. Great job.
