Photographer's Note

The people of Northern Spain, so I noticed, are much more willing to pose for the unknown photographer than the average westerner. They seem to assume, quite rightly, that their image is desired because it simply is appealing, as opposite to the otherwise often encountered reserve that appears to imply that the photographer will use the image for dubious purposes, or will become incredibly wealthy by selling it at the expenses of the model. The pose of the baker in this image reflects clearly a pleasant pride about himself and his products. I had already bought a piece of corn bread from a different vendor, so I didn't even get to taste the bread.
