Photographer's Note

Astorga is a city very strategically located in the Way of Santiago. Episcopal city since a remote antiquity, the first known reference of an Episcopal palace refers to the Xth. century.
The palace has the aspect of a castle, mansion and temple with its impressive exterior constructed with granite stone of white color. Constructed in a neogothic style, it presents a series of elements with apparent military function like battlements, towers and others as viewpoints and terraces.
This building was being modified successively, until an important fire occurred the day 23 of December of 1886 destroyed it totally.
In that time the bishop of Astorga was the Catalan Joan Baptist Grau i Vallespinós - been born in Reus the year 1832 -. That bishop, connoisseur of the creative activity of Gaudí, ordered to him the construction of a new Episcopal palace, commission that Gaudí accepted in February of 1887.

Hi Isabel,

First of all perfect cadrage, colors and sharpness, however, composition might be better, for example the man sitting front might be closer to give a photo more live effect.

Finally very good shot.

Una aruitectura muy distinta a lo que se ouede ver en Barcelona.. una foto bien capturade, aunque me molestan un poco las ramas de los arboles, sobretodo la de la izqiuerda.

Ola amiga Isabel, parece mesmo um conto de fadas este castelo, a arvore tapa um pouco a imagem, mas mesmo assim esta perfeita, abraço gabriel

Bellisima foto de esta bonita catedral.
Me he acordado de cuando pase por alli peregrinando.
Muy buen punto de vista Isabel,muy listo.
Los colores y el contraste esta perfecto.
En el encuadre no sobra ni falta nada.

lindo momento,
o homem de costas... a nitidez do ambiente e ainda o céu de um azul profundo e bonito. Até parece que usou filtro polarizador.
