Photographer's Note
Camariñas is a fishing village known for its bobbin lacework and its natural and environmental wealth, witnessed by the Cape Vilán Lighthouse, one of the most emblematic in Galicia.
It occupies a peninsula with two faces, one facing the Atlantic Ocean and the other the calm waters of the estuary that it shares with the neighboring municipality of Muxía. The place name of Camariñas comes from the caramiña shrubby plant (Corema album).
The economy of the municipality depends, to a large extent, on activities related to the sea and the commercialization of catches. Our fishing port is the one with the greatest commercial weight on the Costa da Morte, mainly due to species such as sardines and octopus.
We also have a fishermen's brotherhood, a group of shellfish and barnacle fishermen, as well as one of the most traditional canneries on the Costa da Morte, Grupo Cerdeimar, and octopus, algae and shellfish preparation and processing companies.
Camariñas is well known for its bobbin lace, a tradition that has passed from generation to generation and that has made this town the capital of lace, a true work of art for those who appreciate the beauty of the pieces and the enormous work what's behind.

Hola Luis,
Lovely composition with the group of the white motorboats in the foreground. Further in the distance we see a little bridge under which all the boats can connect to another harbour. Elegant houses seem to line up the promenade in the distance.
Charming place, very well presented.

Hello Luis,
A charming view of the harbour, most of all those lovely houses in the background with fine colours in a pleasant light. The small boats in the foreground are very well included too against the backdrop of blue water.

Hello Luis,
You show us a part of the town and the canal from a good angle. Four small boats fill the foreground well and the view is nicely framed by the quays. The photo has a fine clarity and the note provides good information about this place.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Luis,
It is a charming little port, but if it is a fishing village, why do we have only pleasure boats? Hmm, maybe the fishermen all went to work.
Regards,
MT
