In the summer of 2016, I visited the Guggenheim Museum. It is a museum of modern and contemporary art located in Bilbao, Spain. The museum was inaugurated on 18 October 1997 by King Juan Carlos I of Spain.

Hallo Stef,
De compositie is mooi verdeeld tussen de futuristische architectuur van het Guggenheim en de enorme spin. Ik heb ook ooit een foto van zo'n megaspin gepost, maar dan vanuit een heel ander deel van de wereld (en ergens staat me vaag bij dat er in Stockholm ook eentje staat/stond). De stad is ook mooi te zien op deze heldere zomerdag.

It is sometimes said that what is inside this museum is not at all as interesting as the building itself. That may be true, and in any case the design is spectacular. You combined it well with this close view of the famous sculpture by Louise Bourgeois.

Hello Stef,
A nicely balanced composition featuring the museum and one of its most famous sculptures; it also sets them in the context of their surroundings. Agreeable lights and natural colours and very good sharpness.

Hello Stef,

The building is very modern and renown for its design but I like how you have combined the huge sculpture so effectively with the building, in a clear, sharp photograph.
The inclusion of the figures adds so much to the atmosphere! The huge spider appears to be pursuing them, unknown to them! Drama ensues!

Dag Stef,
Ik wist niet dat er ook een exemplaar van deze monsterspin bij het Guggenheim in Bilbao staat. Zoals Lars al schreef zijn we dit beest al op verschillende steden tegengekomen. Lars moet altijd met de telelens foto’s maken omdat hij bang is voor spinnen.

Hello Stef, a very good point of view, where you have the beautiful blue sky as a background for the giant spider, so there is nothing to distract our eyes, and we can appreciate its' form perfectly.
Two excellent and alternative focal points. We see enough of the building to know where you are.
Excellent sharp shot.

Hallo Stef,
Verbazend hoe dun de poten van die spin zijn waar ze de grond raken. Het zijn er natuurlijk wel acht die voor het evenwicht zorgen.
Tussen de poten links ontdekken we nog een ander groot kunstwerk.
Uiteraard is de buitenkant van het Guggenheim in het oog springend en eigenlijk één reusachtig kunstwerk.
Ik heb al heel wat plaatsen in Spanje bezocht maar Bilbao nog niet.

Amazing sculpture! That's one hell of a spider, much too big to cope with and it gives me the creeps but your photo is excellent. Like your composition, the contrasting colours
and the people give some ideas of scale. That's a cracking capture, Congrats

Hello Stef, Great show of the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao. Nice view of these three works of art - the spider, the colourful flower and the silver balls (I forgot the names). The building is fantastic but inside it is not so interesting. I was a bit disappointed.

Hi Stef,
fantastic capture of this famous Gehry's structure with the spider as a foreground.
Great blue sky as a backdrop.
Bilbao is still on my list of places to go but if I ever get there: this is a sort of photo which I would like to take there!
