Photographer's Note
The Palau of them Arts Reina Sofia, majestic building designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, appears like a great sculpture of high symbolic content. In fact, its profile nautical suggests the proximity to the sea and its disposition in the old one I milk fluvial of the Turia river. It has platforms in projection to different heights with strolls and vegetation, to which one accedes by means of panoramic elevators and stairs located inside the metallic housings that there are to both sides of the building. The material par excellence is the white concrete, when covering the great structural supports with the building, whereas the mosaic is the second material of greater use when having the spectacular covers with the Palau. The Palau is surrounded by than sixty thousand meters squared more by landscape gardening and laminae by water by eleven thousand meters squared with surrounding strolls.

hello Luis,
I don't like the frame, I find it too distractive, especially yhe big white letters. but that's a matter of personal preference :) but I do like the photo, the unusual shape of the building is quite fascinating, reminds me of a water droplet or, indeed, a wave in the sea. I don't mind the yellow sky, but I would prefer a little sharper image. other than that - nice work, the composition works very well.
best,
Kristine

Hola Luis,
This is a very beautiful architecture picture.
A great project of Calatrava !
Good that you included other buildings on the BG, and the palmtrees on the FG. So we have a better idea of the size of the palau. Interesting colours.
Best regards, Paul

Vaya vaya!

Wow, what a nice and futuristic POV. I like the compo emphasizes the revolutionary talent of Calatrava showing us this masterpiece. Perfect courves, nice postprocessed colours (a bit like a stage of Star Wars 3), thanks, Jalab

Hola Luis!
Que edificion mas extraordinario, amigo, un gran ejemplo de arquitectura moderna! Gran encuadre y composicion, muy buen manejo de la luz! Ese color naranja en el cielo, es natural? Has hecho algun post procesado? Pues, no importa, lo que importa es el resultado, lo cual es maravilloso! Felicidades!
Un saludo,

Hola Luis,
This tabac PP does not work bad with this futuristic architecture, inded it helps make the image spectacular, but keep it for such limited opportunities only as it quickly gets boring.

Hola Luis,
This building in superb! So very original...and also like the way you show it, with the yellow sky, in original colours...I admit the photo could be a little more sharp but the final result is really good.

Hola Luis!
espectacular.
Saludos desde Miami!

Hi Luis!
I was in Valencia for one only entire day! Got to visit downtown and it was the preparation time for the "Fallas"! Enjoyed it a lot, but not enough time to visit, for example, those wonderful buildings... have to return to include them and to jump up to the Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca...).
That's a fantastic architecture photograph, with excellent sharpness, pov, management of light and color effects!
Great quality picture by talented photographer's eyes!
TFS - Congratulations!

Luis: beautiful architectural image - it would seem you used a tobacco or similiar filter (?) , regardless the effect was spot on. c

I am glad you like Calatrava - he also did some work in Toronto at BCE Place. I don't think this is one of his best. The exterior shell is strictly decoration and not much to do with the function of the building.
For the picture (that received 34 points): I think you used photoshop for the unnatural and sensationalist orange background (not permitted on TE, Buddy!!). Otherwise the image is out of focus, something you accuse me of.
Fondly, janos

Hi Luis,
Calatrava...yes, he surely moves boundaries in statics and architecture. He is unique as his work is. It is impossible not to admire him for he is so creative and bold. As it is clearly seen on your photo. Great idea to have those (i presume) apartment block in the background to provide a sence of scale and difference of Calatrava's sculptor. Wonderful organic forms do remind of a wave...also of a water droplet and appear as a very greateful motive in this wonderful early evening light.
Warm regards,
Jeri
