Photographer's Note
The narrow channel shown in the image is apparenty what gave Smögen its name.
The community of Smögen actually straddled several islands that lay so close together that the space in between has since been filled, and is now considered as a single island. The southern part consists mostly of Smögen Island, which lies in the centre. Around this lies to the south Kleven (The bridge shown in the image connects to the island Kleven so I guess the bridge is called Klevenbron), in the northwest Sandön, and in the northeast, Hasselön. The town is connected to the neighbouring town Kungshamn by Smögenbron (Smögen Bridge).
The access to Smögen is via Smögenbron.
It is well worth it to walk across Smögenbron (not shown here but use google maps and the little man to go for a drive from Kungshamn to Smögen across Smögenbron starting at 58.365615, 11.244690)
Smögen is mentioned for the first time towards the end of the 16th Century. The name of the community has varied over the years; amongst other names, from "Smögit", "Smöenn", "Smöget" and "Smygesund". The name has probably come from the Swedish word "smyghål", which translates as "sneak-hole" or "nook", referring to the narrow inlet between the Smögen island and where the harbour lies. Around the 17th Century, the island Hasselön was populated, and through the years this community has grown together with Smögen, and is today considered a part of the Smögen community.

Hello Trevor,
The point of view is superb, setting this attractive little village in context. The composition has a pleasing balance to it and benefits from very good colours and sharpness. Perfectly exposed.

Bonjour Trevor,
J'aime beaucoup cette plongée vers la rangée de maisons ā contre bas.J'aime beaucoup ces petits plans d'eau calme entourés de rochers. L'ensemble est d'une belle netteté et jouit d'une superbe luminosité.
Amicalement
Serge
