Trees on Södermalm, a photo from Sodermanland, Svealand

Photographer's Note

This is an unusual photo for me. No people, nothing odd going on, just two trees in a courtyard showing their fresh leaves. I took a photo simply because I liked the colours. Seeing it on my monitor I liked it enough to post it here, even though it may not be "my style" of photo.

This is from one of the many picturesque streets on Södermalm island where most buildings are from the 18th or early 19th centuries. If you want to get there, click at Map: view in the box to the right.

Lepa drvena ograda sa vratima i zeleno drvece, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama i kontrastom.
Dobar rad sa lepim fotografijama u radionici.
Lepa stara zgrada i prozori.

Hello Gert,
More than the trees in your main photo, it's the colour of the facade that catches my eye. I also like the colour of the fence (falu red?).
Beautiful cherry blossoms in the streets in the WS.
Their heyday has come to an end in Belgium.

I love it ... the minute I saw this photo on the thumbnail :-)
The colours , centuries old buildings , red wooden gate and of course ... the beautiful two trees add an extra 'beauty' to the scene. Just stunning.
You're definitely an unusual man ... producing such a pleasing characteristic picture of Södermalm.
I equally also love the tree on the WS1. Amazing ... it does look like the building has a rooftop garden.
Ha! the WS2 ... what can I say? It's very 'usual' you !!!
Again, these blossom trees are so beautiful ... giving a magical vibe to the busy street.
Tfs, a picturesque street ... just a short walk where you live :-)

Hi Gert,

The point of view is showing the details of the fence, pf the trees and of the building. It is clear and sharp. There is a good contrast between the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

I liked the three photos, but more of the main post. I would like to see what van gogh would have created if inspired on these colors and trees. very beautiful visual effect.

Farverne er så rige og stærke her, den røde træport og den orange væg går meget godt sammen og de frisk grønne farver af de små blade i træerne står virkelig godt frem fra baggrunden. Meget godt set og fanget.

Hi Gert,in fact the main photo looks like a painting, great contrast of the first spring green of the trees with the background lit in warm tones, a really nice idea. The two ws are also very beautiful, especially the birch grown in a very difficult place. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

I picked this shot because it kinda made me laugh.
you know what I see when I view this? the two trees are like two kids, peeking over the top of the fence, looking to see who they can go play with. They're stuck behind the fence but sorely want to get out and run around :)

The trees with their fresh green shoots are more than adequate focal points and the rust red wall makes a superb backdrop with the red wooden fence complimenting the scene. Good textural contrasts and sharpness. Tfs!

Splendid both this photo and the two of the WS, which have the link of the trees, which both in this photo and in another one of the WS seem to be enclosed in those patios, behind high gates, here the greenery of the young leaves make a nice contrast with the warm heat of the house.
Good perspective of the image, very pleasing to the eye.
Colour, sharpness and luminosity are effectively managed.
Very good composition, magnificent presentation.

It may be a bit unusual, but you made up for it by uploading two photos full of people to WS. ;-)
But the main one is my favourite as, like you you, I think the colours are very beautiful - delicate greens on the contrasting canvas of deep orange. The intricate patterns of tree branches also add to the artistic feel.
