Photographer's Note
Gamla Stan, the Old City, the ancient part of Stockholm, with all its small paved streets, its coloured walls, its old shops... What a perfect place to get lost !
Here it's the street with the highest antique dealers concentration, just a few meters away from the Royal Palace. As if back centuries before, one could almost here horses and carriages passing by. Be careful not to be hit by Her Majesty's horses !
Stockholm, so far away... Not yet antiquity memories, but still. This picture I shot one year ago. One year, so many things changed... But after that year, it's great to have one foot back in Stockholm thanks to those pictures. It's really great to be back here on TE, with all of you !!

hi youssef
I like this scene from Gamla Stan. Good use of the light makes for an interesting setting. The person going in good for the compo. The difficulties with the washed out light is not good but difficult to avoid in this cropping.

hi Youssef, the light that falls on the man is beautiful, it looks like a reflection from a window pane. for me, it's THE thing about this photo. but the place looks really intersting too, the narrow street, as you say, one can almost hear horses and carriages from the last century. nicely composed as well.
best regards
A.

Hi Youssef,
Oh yeah....Gamla Stan. I stayed 1 month there two years ago becuause of my job - and I loved every minute of it. Such a beautiful place with the narrow streets. You have captured it so well here. I tried to do it myself but didn't get a decent shot. The colours are fantastic and so is the light on the man.
Really nice!!

Bonjour Youssef,
J'adore ce genre de photos, les atmosphères de petites ruelles dans les vieux quartiers avec des façades très colorées. Dommage que la photo ne soit pas bien droite ! Mais c'est une belle composition avec cet homme et la lumière est magnifique !
Amicalement,
Stéphanie.

Hello Youssef,
Having been in Stockholm recently I know well the photogenic places of the city, and I can tell you that managed to take Gamla Stan from it's best corner with the curving street ahead.

Salut petit Coyote,
C'est sympa de revenir faire un tour par ici, comment vas tu ?
Jolie vue des belles facades de Gamla Stan avec juste ce qu'il faut de presence humaine, mais elles sont ou les belles Suedoises ?
Bonne journee,
Jean-Yves

Hi Youssef,
Gamla Stan really has nice, narrow and colourful alleys. Yet daylight manages to access the street through window reflections. And you caught the man walking in this special light.

Nice shot. All those windows filled with reflections and all those spots of light. And I do like the colours as well as feeling of loseness. Greetings T.

Bonsoir Youssef,
Amicalement. Christian

Wonderful composition.
Great pov, dof, perspective, details, colors, light, shadows and sharpness.
The man add a plus to the composition.
An invitation to walk.

What a rectangular shot. The shape is what stuck me when I looked at this picture and also the colours. Shades of yellow/orange broken by the black frames of the windows and buildings.
The only curves are in the road that leads the eye through the shot. Great composition.
