Photographer's Note

This image was intended to be viewed together with a workshop image as a sequence of events. (I had workshop turned off so haven't been able to post the workshop just now. I will post it tomorrow as my next image rather than post a workshop)
I spotted this opportunity while our tour guide was talking. I turned back to listen to the tour guide then turned back to where I had taken the photo. The opportunity for a second photo was found. The situation says something about modern parenting.
(I seem to have a short attention span when it comes to listening to tour guides.)

The Promenade de la Treille is a promenade situated in the centre of the old town of Geneva in Switzerland.
First created in the 16th century as an observation and artillery post, at the beginning of the 18th century it assumed the function of a promenade with the planting of a double row of chestnut trees between the mansions of the Rue des Granges, the Hotel de Ville and the ramparts overlooking the Parc des Bastions .

Hello Trevor,
A charming capture of everyday life; the father concentrating on his mobile, the child playing. The image is well framed and has a pleasing balance to it. I especially like the warm light and the shadow play. I wonder what the mother would think if she saw this?

Detta är en väldigt fin komposition med underbart ljus och varma färger. Jag tycker mycket om den lilla flickan på karusellen och den uttråkade pappan som sitter vid sidan av. Det är också en fin balans mellan den mörka marken och den ljusare väggen med alla skuggor. Det är en underbar vardagsbild och jag är säker på att den gladde dig mer än reseledarens prat. Jag gör själv allt jag kan för att undvika reseledare.

Hi Trevor,this is a great pic,no doubts! The composition is truly beautiful with the father reading and the child playing,but the best thing is this fantastic game made by the warm light and the shadows too,perfect exposure and bright details for a very professional work,i like it!
