Les Aiguilles Dorées, a photo from Valais, West

Photographer's Note

A view from the Cabane du Trient (3170m.) towards the Aiguilles Dorées. The giant glacier in front of the Dorées is the Trient Glacier and it is over 2km from this view at the hut to the photographed mountains, wich go up to 3520 meters.
Picture taken at 21:00hrs. using a little wall for supporting the camera.

Well composed photo with mountain surrounded by clear blue sky and similar looking blue snow below.
The photo looks slightly under-exposed. I think snow should be much brighter than it's here. Don't trust your camera auto metering in winter, add some positive exposure compensation. Usually +2/3 EV works well for scene like this.

Hi Steven,
A superb winter landscape with these Aiguilles.
The lines in the snow show that very few people could come until this point. I imagine it is so special to be there, surrounded with such a beautiful environment and far from our stressing civilisation.
