Chess game, a photo from Geneva, West

Photographer's Note

A typical scene of the the Geneva Bastions park, there is several chess-boards in the open air.

There is often people which comes to play. Even if one does not play chess, it is interesting to be stay near theses players, the parts can be animated. The comments, often full with humour, fuse on all the sides what transports us in a Mediterranean environment.

Good angle giving an interesting view on the ongoing game. I like the man in the background explaining the finesses of the game.

c'est bien pensé, et j'aime la petite distorsion du grand angle. le cadrage est bon, par contre pour le POV, j'aurais plutôt vu une piece en tout premeir plan, avec une grosse distorsion ... le prochain coup, demande à ces joueurs l'autorisation de photographier ... je pense qe le resultat peut être sympa.
J'aime bcp l'attitude de ces joueurs et le cadre ...

C'est une jolie vue de vie quotidienne. Avec 3 plans bien marqués, le jeu lui-même, les personnages, et le fond avec ces arbres aux couleurs automnales.

Ben c'est plutot pénard la vie des genevois.
Ca joue en pleine semaine :)
Une scène simple, mais sympa avec un très bon pdv et de belles couleurs de saisons.

Belle compo de nos joueurs d'échecs. J'étais aussi venue faire quelques images ici l'été dernier!
J'aime ton cadrage en contre plongée et avec le grand angle, ça donne une perspective originale.

Excellent daily life image. An example on how western daily life can be quite interesting and attractive contrary to what is usually thought.

The action is very well captured, as people are very expressive. All of them play a part in the photo, which is great. I particularly like the large foreground filled with the chess pieces and the great lens distortion together with the diagonals bringing a lot of dynamic to the photo.
