Photographer's Note
And again a tree picture from my cold christmas photo expedition to the Belchenfluh. Here two old gnarly trees seem to protect a younger but still gnarly sibling from the cold winter weather.

Salut Adrian,
Atmosphère étrange que tu as su nous retransmettre par l'excellente gestion de la luminosité pas évidente apparement. On s'attend a y voir passer des lutins ou comme dit Nicou un sorcière... Bravo.
Très bonne année. Stéphane

Hi Adrian.
I love the monotone, and the perspective, leading the eye to the rear tree. so simple and peaceful. well done. Happy new year.
Regards, Steve.

This is trully an image comming from a movie of some sorte! Simply wonderfull! This black and white picture (knowing that it is a color shot) adds mystery and a spooky ambiance. The trees seem to be dancing! Great!

Hi Adrian,
This is a marvellous shot. The cold conditions really make this work, and the B&W conversion (I assume?) works perfectly with this image. Its great as it is, but I reckon also it would look superb with a crop on the left and right, to reduce the size of the framing trees and place even more emphasis on the middle tree. I have posted a workshop - just an idea.
Great work.
Adam.

Well, Adrian, you've gone and amassed far too many photos for me to reasonably critique - but I'll make a start here, and it's a very good place to start because it is such a very fine photograph - if I had taken this I would be smirking with delight and I hope you were!!
It is what I call a "true" photograph - by which I mean that it is actually false to "reality" and hence a great use of photography as an art form rather than a recording meduim.
The simple genuis here is not to show the outside of either of the large trees, and bingo (as they say in bingo halls) the illusion leaps forth, fully formed.
Regards
Colin
